Making The Most Out Of Your Day
Everyone Would Like Those Perfect Photos To Show To Friends And Family..
A successful photo shoot starts with good planing, location, time of the day and what you choose to wear.
Though we are always happy to make the most out of any situation, here we can give you some handy tips that will help you get those stunning photos you want.
Choosing Colours
For most photo shoots, we suggest sticking with a neutral color pallet, think of soft earthy tones.
If you have something really nice you would like to wear then build the rest of the family around that outfit.
Try to keep to 3-5 colors (less is more).
Remember the focus of your shoot is your entire family and if one member is wearing something completely different it may unbalance the photo.
However it may be that you may want Mum or Dad to stand out from young children.
Think About Texture
One way to add interest to your shoot is with textured clothing, think knit or waffle fabrics, linen, corduroy, lace etc.
Adding texture just adds depth and dimension creating a more 3D feel to your image.
Clothing with movement can also add interest, for example flowy skirts and dresses.
Try to limit patterns to one person, mix matched patterns can be very distracting.
What If You Like Bold Bright Colors?
If someone is determined to show off that beautiful bold dress and colorful is your theme, we just change up our approach to your shoot. If you let us know before hand we can choose our location and work towards more moody environments that work better to compliment your style.
Light and airy
Moody, rich and bold
Keep It Simple
Try to avoid Logo's/Brands on clothing, it will always be the first thing to grab attention.
Matching themes may seem cliche but they work over and over again as no individual is taking all the attention.
If someone is going to stand out from the crowd it should be mum or dad and not the children.

Getting The Most Out Of Your Children
Kids will be kids.
There is no pressure on one of our family shoots. We will do our best to capture the important photos with children before they lose interest.
Expectations
Let your children know before your session what to expect, they can play games taking pretend photos of each other, smiling for mum and dad. Looking through family albums, things that encourage them to take part.
Rewards/Bribes
You can set an expectation for the family before the shoot, for example ice creams for lunch if they listen to mum and dad, if necessary you can bring bribes with you, one of their favorite treats. This is something I leave up to the family and what ever happens on the day we will do our best.
